Your group's money, clear to every member.

No more lost notebooks.

e-Mali keeps the savings, shares, loans and books of Rwandan cooperatives and savings groups (Ibimina) in one place. Every payment has its proof, every approval takes two people, and every member can check their own balance.

No card needed. English and Kinyarwanda.

1 · Recorded by the secretary, with the MoMo receipt attached. Whoever records a payment cannot approve it.
2 · Approved by the president, a second person. Only now does it count, and the member can see it.

Built for two kinds of groups

Know what's due before it's overdue.

Cooperatives

Members, shares, loans and books in one simple place. Your RCA reports and deadlines are taken care of along the way.

For example: farmers, moto-taxi drivers, artisans and tailors, traders, transport and housing cooperatives, and savings and credit cooperatives (SACCOs).

Share the profit in minutes, not days.

Savings groups (Ibimina)

For any savings group, registered or not. Save at your own pace, manage the social fund and loans, and prepare the year-end share-out in minutes.

For example: students, colleagues at work, neighbors and homeowners in an estate, church and alumni groups, women's and youth groups, family and friends.

Phone number and PIN

Every member can see their own money.

Members sign in with their phone number and a PIN. They see their savings, shares, loans and dividends, and can send a payment with a photo of the receipt.

Community money deserves clear records.

Notebooks, spreadsheets and screenshots weren't built for your group's money.

  • Payments are hard to check. Bank slips and MoMo messages get lost in phones and folders.
  • Members have to trust, not see. Most members cannot check their own savings or loan balance.
  • Year end takes weeks. Sharing profit, paying out dividends and preparing reports for RCA all happen by hand.

One record that everyone can trust.

e-Mali turns every contribution, loan and expense into a verified record. The books build themselves from those records, so the reports are ready when you need them.

Everything your group's money needs, in one place.

One platform for cooperatives and savings groups (Ibimina). Each group only sees the tools that fit it.

Members and savings

Record members, savings, shares and payments. Every payment carries its proof, such as a deposit slip or a MoMo message, and is checked by an officer before it counts.

  • Member register. Members, national IDs, automatic membership numbers, status history and exports.
  • Payments with proof. Attach a bank slip or MoMo message to every payment. A second person verifies it.
  • Savings and contributions. Monthly contributions, or savings daily, weekly or every two weeks. Track who is behind.

Questions groups ask us

All questions

Is the trial really free?

Yes, for 60 days. No card and no hidden fees, and nothing is charged automatically when the trial ends. You can export your data at any time.

Is e-Mali only for village groups?

No. e-Mali works for any group that saves, lends or shares a profit, in Kigali or anywhere else in the country. Ibimina of students, colleagues at work, neighbors and church or alumni groups can use it, and so can cooperatives of drivers, artisans, traders and farmers. Members only need a phone to check their balance.

Do my members need smartphones?

No. Officers can record everything. Members with a phone can sign in to check their balance, using a PIN or a one-time code.

Does our group need to be registered first?

No. Any cooperative or savings group can start right away. If you register later, your records will already be in order.

Does it work for both cooperatives and savings groups (Ibimina)?

Yes. You choose your type when you sign up, and e-Mali shows the rules, words and tools that fit it.

From sign-up to your first verified payment in an afternoon.

  1. Create your group.

Sign up and choose cooperative or ikimina. Answer a few yes/no questions and e-Mali sets your first rules for you. It takes five steps, and you do not need any registration papers to start.

  2. Bring your members.

Add members one by one, or upload our Excel template with your members, shares, savings and loans. Errors are shown row by row before anything is saved.

  3. Invite your team.

Officers and staff get their sign-in details by email, and members can sign in by phone. Give each person a role that fits their job.

  4. Record, approve, report.

Record payments with their proof and have a second person approve them. The books, statements and member balances update by themselves.

  • Two people, every time.

The person who records a payment cannot approve it.

  • Nothing disappears.

Every action is logged, and the log cannot be edited.

  • Proof kept for 10 years.

Receipts and documents are stored safely and stay findable.

  • Your language.

The app is in English and Kinyarwanda, and reports can also be exported in French.

Built so the numbers can be trusted.

Members, auditors and regulators need to believe your records. e-Mali was designed around that from the first line of code.
